Bmibaby, the low fares airline with tiny fares has announced the suspension of 5 routes which fly from Birmingham airport. The airline has said that it will not resume the summer routes of Birmingham to Madrid, Birmingham to Rome, Birmingham to Milan, Birmingham to Lisbon and Birmingham to Bordeaux.
These services were already suspended for the winter season. Passengers wishing to fly to Milan can opt for Flybe. Rome and Madrid are no longer available on the Bmibaby network. Passengers wishing to fly to these destinations should look for flights from Heathrow with BA or Manchester with Jet2. Bmibaby has flights to Lisbon and Bordeaux from Manchester.
The cuts in services would seem to reflect the fall in the number of passengers taking short breaks to popular city destinations.
