Geneva Cointrin International Airport is a major airport located close to the city of Geneva in Switzerland. The airport is well connected to the surrounding region via road, train and bus and it deals with several millions of passengers each year. In 2007, the airport broke the 10 million mark in terms of passenger numbers flying to and from Switzerland and France, whose border touches the airport. Geneva Airport has the longest aeroplane runway in Switzerland at nearly 4 kilometres from which all its commercial flights start their journeys. The airport has expanded with various extensions and refurbishments to deal with increasing passenger and flight numbers and is one of the most busy and used airports in Switzerland and Europe.

Geneva Airport boasts plenty of parking facilities for both long stay and short term stays. There are several thousand parking spaces distributed in over five different car parks all of which are located close to the terminal building. All of the car parks are secure with reliable security and surveillance. Some of the car parks are directly connected to the terminal, including the two short stay car parks P2 and P3, which have short time limits on stays and offer the first 10 minutes free of charge, making them ideal for speedy drop offs and pick ups for passengers.

Geneva Cointrin Airport is situated approximately 5 kilometres north west of the city of Geneva, the second most populous city in Switzerland. The airport is surrounded by a number of smaller towns such as Meyrin, Pregny and Le Pommier which surround the airport with a built up terrain. A couple of kilometres to the east of the airport lies the end of the Leman Lake. The northernmost edge of the airport actually makes up part of the Swiss French border and the airport is only a few kilometres from Moens, on the eastern border of France.

Geneva International Airport is located approximately 5 kilometres from the city centre of Geneva which can be reached quickly and easily via a number of methods of transport. A railway station is located close to the airport which frequently runs to Geneva as well as numerous other towns and cities within Switzerland. There are also several bus routes that operate around the airport which can take travellers to destinations in the surrounding area. These bus routes run very regularly from just outside the airport and they go to a number of locations including some towns in France and ski resorts during the skiing season.

There are many conference and business facilities at the airport including several executive and business lounges located through security in departures. These airline-based lounges offer some of their customers a relaxing atmosphere where they can take advantage of facilities such as refreshments, telephones and internet access. There is wireless internet access in all public areas in the airport as well as internet cafes for all. At the moment, Geneva International Airport do not provide any conference facilities or meeting rooms, but there are a few hotels located close to the airport such as the Crowne Plaza, Movenpick and Ramada Park hotels which can offer meeting rooms for hire in advance.
