Located just 10 kilometres from the centre of the city of Birmingham, Birmingham International Airport has become the most important and busy airport servicing the English Midlands. The airport, growing up from an airbase in 1939, has been refurbished and expanded several times in its eventful history to deal with the several millions of passengers using it each year. Ibiza Airport
Ibiza Airport is located on the island of Ibiza and is the biggest and most popularly used airport on the Balearic Islands of Ibiza and Formentera. The airport deals with a little under 5 million passengers each year, the majority of whom are tourists travelling during the peak summer months. The airport handles flights going to and from a number of destinations including Barcelona and Madrid. It was originally constructed during the Spanish Civil war and began operating domestic flights in the late 1940’s. Since then it has grown and expanded to deal with increasing numbers of passengers. It’s runway and taxiway have been enhanced along with the terminal building itself which has been extended and refurbished.

Parking Facilities in and around Ibiza Airport
The parking facilities for Ibiza airport are situated close to the terminal building, a short distance opposite the entrance. The car park is relatively small with just over 500 parking spaces, but the rates for parking are generally inexpensive. The car park can be used for short stay along with longer term parking. It is also highly useful for those wishing to speedily pick up or drop off passengers as the first half hour of parking is free of charge. After this the rates increase to less than one euro an hour and once again changes after five days of parking.

Airport Distance from Ibiza Town and other Notable Surrounding Locations
Ibiza Airport is situated on the southern coast of Ibiza, on the south west of the island. It is surrounded by a number of small towns such as Can Trontoll, Sa Caleta and Saint Jordi. The airport overlooks the Mediterranean, facing the other Balearic island of Formentera which can be reached by ferry in approximately 45 minutes. The town of Eivissa lies roughly 5 miles north east of the airport where ferries, which travel to a range of destinations from Valencia to Barcelona, can be taken. A few miles to the north west of the airport is situated the town of Saint Josep de sa Talaia.

Transport Links to Ibiza
There are two routes to and from Ibiza: road and water. By road, many destinations on the island can be reached by taxi and bus. There is a taxi stand just outside the terminal building and by taxi, it takes around 20 minutes to reach the centre of Ibiza. Bus routes also operate from the airport and can take passengers to Ibiza Town in 30 minutes. For fliers travelling to Formentera, a ferry can be taken from the town of Eivissa which lies just a few miles north east of the airport.

There are relatively few business facilities available at Ibiza airport and telephone services are offered throughout the terminal. There is also a conference hall located in the airport which is equipped with a television, video and overhead projectors. The meeting rooms can fit up to 80 people and 40 computers. It can be booked in advance through the airport.
