Reus Airport is an up and coming airport located in the Costa Dorada region of Catalonia in Spain. Recently, there has been a massive influx and increase of flights and passengers to the airport, with passenger numbers more than doubling in the ten years from 1995 to 2005. This increase is due in part to Reus Airport being close to several tourist areas, not just Reus but Salou and Cambrils too. Also nearby is the theme park at Port Aventura. Barcelona is also reachable from the airport, and some low-cost airlines use the airport as a gateway to the famous city. The aforementioned increase in passenger numbers has seen much improvements instituted at the airport, including extensive renovation to the departures terminal.

Reus Airport is located approximately three kilometres from Reus itself, and is around thirteen kilometres from Tarragona, the provincial capital of Catalonia. As mentioned before, the surrounding area is also home to the beach resorts of Salou and Cambrils, as well as being close to the Priorat region, famous for its wines.
Transport Links to Reus
The airport is accessible through the T-11 motorway, and a drive to Reus should take around five to fifteen minutes, depending on traffic. To get to Reus by bus, the service number 50 goes direct to Reus. There are also lots of taxis which pick up outside the front of arrivals. It should cost around €15 to get to Reus, with journey time of course dependant on traffic.

Reus and the surrounding area
Reus is the capital of the comarca of Baix Camp, in the province of Tarragona. The area is renowned for the production of wines and spirits, and has in more recent years become an emerging tourist destination as well as an extremely cultural town. The population of Reus is around 102,000. The Plaza de Prim and the Plaza del Mercadal are lovely areas of the town, and the Casa Navas, a modernist gem which was designed by Domenech Monaner, is worth visiting. Also worth visiting is the 16th century Gothic church in the Plaza de Sant Pere, from whose bell tower can be seen wonderful views of the entire Costa Dorada. Also, the Regional History Museum is also an illuminating visit taking in the cultural history of the region.
Reus is also a gateway to other areas, such as Salou and Cambrils, both of which boast beautiful beaches as well as offering the pleasant climate of the region. For thrill seekers, one of the largest theme parks in Europe, Port Aventura, is extremely close by too. All in all, any Birmingham to Reus flights now will only ensure that the area becomes even more popular to holidaymakers and cheap flights can only aid this.
