Flights from Birmingham to Toronto

Birmingham Airport
Serving a wide population in the Midlands and beyond, Birmingham Airport is a bustling and successful international airport, which has won various awards for its services. It sees over eighty airlines fly in and out of its two terminals, and upwards of eight million visitors will pass through the airport each year. Excellently located near the UK’s second largest city, Birmingham Airport has excellent transport links and a truly first class set of airport services on offer, including duty free shopping, several high street retail outlets, comfortable airport lounges and dining.

About Birmingham
Birmingham is not only Britain’s seconnd city, it’s also a leading world player for arts and trades exhibitions, international academic conferences and large-scale events - for example, hosting both Labour and Conservatory Party Conferences in 2008. It is also a noted European shopping paradise, offering everything from bespoke jewellery in the famous jewellery quarter to upscale designer shopping in Harvey Nichols or Selfridges. The burgeoning arts scene is also renowned, with the Symphony Hall being regarded as the best in Europe, and the NEC Stadium offering large international acts. And of course, dining out offers everything from fast exotic cuisine, to michelin starred dining, and there’s plenty of glamourous bars and cosy pubs on offer for post-dinner drinks!

Toronto Airport
The Toronto Pearson Airport has three terminals, and is recognised as a truly major international airport, serving not only Toronto and surrounding areas, but Ontario too. It’s Canada’s business airport, and the home of Canada’s flagship national airline - Air Canada. Toronto Airport handled nearly thirty-one million passengers in 2006 and was awarded first place for the ‘best global airport’ in a 2006 UK study.

Toronto Pearson Airport offers a wide range of modern facilities and services in addition to its flights - even housing a changing arts exhibition as part of its work on Terminal 1! Both terminals offer a wide selection of bars, shops, restaurants and leisure facilities for travellers, as well as a tailored ‘Made to Fly’ service that provides various optional meal menus for those passengers who favour buying food to eat on the flight. There are also several wireless internet points located around the terminals for travellers wishing to get online and check their e-mails before boarding!

Parking Facilities
There are ample parking facilities situated at both terminals, with approximately 11,000 spaces available - and even an optional valet service available at Terminal 1. For travellers seeking cost-effective options, there’s also an off-site reduced rate car park option, clearly marked. All onsite car parking has accessible spaces for disabled passengers and there’s short-term drop-off spaces for pick ups/drop offs.

Parking charges vary according to location and duration, and tariffs can be found at the paypoints. The short term parking rates can be good value for money if used for under four hours, otherwise it’s recommended to consider long-stay or park and ride - for example, the Reduced Rate Lot on the nearby Airport Road is definitely the cheapest on-airport parking option for medium/long stay car parking.

Airport Distance
Toronto Pearson Airport is located in northwest downtown Toronto, in Mississauga, only 17 miles away from the city, making it highly accessible for quick and convenient transfers.

Transport Links
Toronto Pearson Airport is situated alongside several main road routes, and there’s a wide range of public transport links between local destinations and the airport. For example, there is a bus/subway service which travels directly into the city centre, shuttle sevices, taxis, hire cars and even limousines, all located conveniently by the airport. Passengers can visit the information desks to find the option which suits them best.

Business and Conference Facilities
The onsite Sheraton Gateway Hotel can offer a full service business centre, with over twenty business meeting rooms available. There are also several excellent conference facilities close to the airport, again, offered at several hotels. For example, the Days Hotel and Conference Centre is available by airport shuttle, and has spacious modern conferencing and business facilities on offer for meetings and events. The Renaissance and Hilton are other good options.
